What: 13th annual Michigan Dairy Expo
Michigan Dairy Expo is the largest annual dairy event in the state.
During 4-H Dairy Days, July 20-23, youth will compete for premiums, ribbons and scholarships in various activities, including dairy quiz bowls, dairy management contests, dairy cattle judging competitions, and the Dairy Days youth show. First- and second-ranked individuals at the junior and senior levels in the youth show will receive cash awards of $1,000 and $750, respectively. Winners may also go on to represent Michigan in national dairy competitions.
Why: The mission of Michigan Dairy Expo is to encourage and promote youth involvement in dairy activities, showcase the Michigan dairy industry, and provide continuing education opportunities for the dairy industry in Michigan and neighboring states.
When: July 20-24
July 20-23 – 4-H Dairy Days, the state’s premier 4-H youth event
July 21 – Livestock Expo Sale-abration (4:30 p.m. VIP, 6 p.m. sale)
July 22 – 11th annual Great Dairy Adventure consumer education day
July 23 – showmanship show-off and pee-wee (pre-4-H) showmanship
July 23 – 4-H Dairy Days Award Program (6 p.m.)
July 23-24 – open breed shows
July 24 – Supreme Champion of Michigan Dairy Expo selected (1 p.m.)
Where: Michigan State University Pavilion for Agriculture & Livestock Education
Located on Farm Lane between Mt. Hope and Forest roads

Who: More than 400 dairy animals exhibited by more than 200 exhibitors are expected for the five-day event.
